The Tartan Carrot fundraiser event for Lotus Animal Sanctuary

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I’ve had a pretty busy week eating lots and exploring new (and visiting old) vegan eateries and enjoying every morsel, so expect lots more restaurant reviews appearing on here soon! In the meantime, you may remember I wrote about the intentions to build an animal sanctuary for all animals, including those who are rescued from slaughter (see my previous post here). It seems like so long ago the amazing people at The Tartan Carrot set this date for the big fundraiser to build Lotus Animal sanctuary in central Scotland – and here it is just over 2 weeks away!

Liz and John, the co-founders behind The Tartan Carrot, organise vegan and vegetarian events throughout Scotland to share the benefits of a plant-based diet. They are also very helpful if you are looking for recommendations for vegan or vegetarian restaurants. The Tartan Carrot have organised a full day of cookery classes, yoga, massage, Bohemian Hippy stall and lots more for the fundraiser event on Saturday 30th September at The Old Barn at Drumbreck Stables in Glasgow. Lovely venue too. All proceeds from the event will go to the Lotus Animal Sanctuary fund – you can read more about sanctuary plans here.

If the full day event isn’t for you, you can also purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win a one-day family pass to Culzean Castle and Country Park, a selection of Bute Island Food’s creamy sheeses, a meal for two at Hendersons Vegan in Edinburgh, cakes by Laurianne’s Raw Cakes and more! Tempted? To see the full list of prizes and to purchase raffle tickets, click here.

On behalf of myself, The Tartan Carrot and Lotus Animal Sanctuary, we would like to thank everyone who will be attending the event or supporting the cause and good luck to all those who have bought raffle tickets. If you could even share the information or their Facebook events page (here) with friends and family, it would be much appreciated.
